PERMM
museum, 2009-2011The building of the River Terminal becomes a museum of modern art, while retaining its historical function: ships dock directly at the museum. The new hall of the museum is a quay building, a platform and a square on the embankment, sunken to the level of the river Kama.
The box of the platform lets in skylight through porthole lights.
The pattern of the platform portlights is visible from space: using various diameters, the light forms the name of the museum.
The square on the water is an open universal exhibition platform and space for city events. In the event of regular flooding, the platform is covered with water and becomes one with the river surface.
